Meet Tammy S. Hewitt: Parish Director of Evangelization and Discipleship

Tammy S. Hewitt

We are excited to announce a new member of our parish team.

Tammy S. Hewitt has joined the staff of SS. Isidore and Maria Parish as the Director of Evangelization and Discipleship.

Tammy is a lifelong Catholic and comes to us with over five years of experience in parish ministry, primarily in adult faith formation and as a Pastoral Associate.

In addition to earning a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, she is also a graduate of the Archdiocese of Hartford’s Leadership Formation Program (formerly the Lay Ministry Program) and has earned a Certificate in Spirituality from the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry Crossroads Program.

Tammy is blessed to be a wife and mother. In her free time she enjoys floral design, experiencing fine wine and kayaking.

In this newly created role, Tammy is excited to work with parishioners as we, as a parish community, strive to cultivate an evangelizing spirit. Together we will help our parish continue as a source of spiritual strength and renewal as well as become a center of evangelization.

In the book, Forming Intentional Disciples, author Sherry Weddell defines evangelization as, “Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, seeking the lost sheep through us.” One of the most effective ways to accomplish this is through being the disciples that Jesus calls us to be. We do this simply by “living our faith, giving joyful witness to our faith and spreading our faith.” (CCC, 1816) St. Irenaeus said it well, “The glory of God is man fully alive.”

Tammy looks at this role as an opportunity to help each parishioner of Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish live their lives abundantly as they grow deeper in their spirituality, open their hearts to an encounter with the Lord and find ways to share their time, talents and treasure with our parish community as well as with the community at large.

Together we will become a beacon of Christ’s light and love to the world.
