We are honored to welcome Bishop Michael Miabesue Bibi, Bishop of the Diocese of Buea, Cameroon, who will celebrate the 4 p.m. Vigil Mass of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity on Sat., Jun. 14, here at SS. Isidore and Maria Parish.
Bishop Bibi is marking the 25th anniversary of ordination this year, having been ordained a priest in 2000. He was appointed a bishop by Pope Francis in 2017, and in 2021, he was appointed Bishop of Buea, also by Pope Francis.
Bishop Bibi’s visit especially blesses us, as he has family here in our parish community, including his brother, Dr. Emmanuel Kenta-Bibi, his sister-in-law, Dr. Eucharia Kenta-Bibi, and nephew, Emmanuel James “EJ” Kenta-Bibi, along with many extended family members. EJ will be an altar server to his uncle during his visit to our parish. Interestingly, during Pope John Paul’s 1985 visit to Cameroon, a young Michael Bibi was a 14-year-old altar server at a Mass celebrated by the future Saint John Paul II.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Bishop Bibi.
