Pastoral Council Snapshot from the Jun. 9, 2025 meeting:

Topics discussed:

  • Final preparations are underway for the Corpus Christi procession on June 22.
  • Personnel updates:
    • Theodore “Ted” Musco has joined the staff as director of the Office of Lifelong Faith Formation.
    • Donna Berger is transitioning to the new post of Director of Ministries and Volunteers.
    • Mary Helmlinger is now the Director of the Social Justice Ministry.
  • Faith Formation:
    • Preparations are underway for the 2025/2026 Faith Formation program for grades 1-10. This year marks the return of all students to in-person classes, with the elimination of online class offerings.
    • Efforts are underway to meet the growing interest of people in their 20s to be involved in parish life. Ted Musco is working on this outreach effort.
    • The Nurturing Seedlings Program is working to help parents become comfortable discussing faith with their children before they start formal faith formation classes in grade 1.
  • Music Ministry:
    • David Garrido-Cid, Director of Music Ministries, added his appreciation for the hard work throughout this year to the members of both the Children and Youth Choir (CYC) and the Gallery Choir (GC), whose seasons are winding down. The Music Ministry continues to grow, with the anticipated fall addition of a Hand Bell Choir.
