An Often-Asked Question–How does someone become a Catholic or become a fully initiated Catholic?

The process formerly known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is now referred to as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) and will begin in the fall here at SS. Isidore and Maria Parish. The OCIA is the process by which people can learn more about the Catholic Faith and the sacramental life of the Church. It is for individuals who have never been baptized or those who have been baptized in another denomination but wish to become Catholic and receive the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and Confirmation. The OCIA is not for an adult who only needs to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Do you know someone who finds themselves in these situations? Would you be willing to invite them to learn more about becoming Catholic or being fully initiated into the Catholic Church? We urge you to share this invitation with others. Also, would you consider assisting in the OCIA process? Please contact Ted Musco, Director of Lifelong Faith Formation at ted@isidoreandmaria.org or at 860-633-9419 as soon as possible for more information. Sessions will start in October
