RENEW is coming to SS. Isidore and Maria Parish, and small-group faith sharing facilitators are needed!
The core of the RENEW Method is small-group faith sharing. Groups of 6-10 people, led by a facilitator, gather for about 90 minutes once per week for six weeks to reflect on Scripture, pray together, and share their thoughts and points of view. Some might remember these groups from years ago. RENEW 2000 was very popular in many dioceses, including our own.
Meetings typically follow a format, starting with an opening prayer, and including scripture, sharing in response to open-ended topical questions, and a commitment to put faith into action.
The result of small-group faith sharing is ongoing spiritual development, community building between group members and the wider parish, and a commitment to put faith into action through acts of charity and service.
Are you interested in serving as a small faith-sharing group facilitator?
We will provide training here at St. Paul’s Church to those interested in leading a small faith-sharing group that will meet once per week for six weeks in the fall and six weeks in the spring. All materials will be provided. The commitment for training is approximately six hours in total, spread over a few days. After training, the commitment is approximately two hours per week for six weeks in the fall and six weeks in the spring. No previous experience is required; just a willingness to share your Faith with others.
The training sessions will be held on September 10, 17, and 24 from 1 to 2:15 pm in the Library of St. Paul’s Church (Faith Formation Center).
For more information and to register to participate in the training sessions, please contact Ted Musco, Director of Lifelong Faith Formation, at Ted@isidoreandmaria.org or 860-633-9419.
