Easter 2026
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
As we celebrate the joy and hope of the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I want to offer my warmest and most heartfelt Easter blessings to each of you across our beloved Archdiocese of Hartford.
Easter is the great proclamation of our faith: Christ is risen, He is truly risen. From the silence of the tomb bursts forth new life, renewed hope, and unshakable joy. No matter the burdens we carry or the uncertainties we face in daily life, the light of the risen Christ breaks through every darkness, assuring us that death and sin do not have the final word.
The Resurrection of Jesus is the foundation of our Christian hope. Through Christ’s victory over death, we are offered new life, a life that is rooted in mercy, strengthened by grace, and sustained by God’s unfailing love. In this sacred season, we are reminded that nothing is beyond God’s redeeming power and that His mercy knows no limits.
As we gather with family, friends, and parish communities to celebrate this holy feast, I invite you to reflect on how we are called to be witnesses of the Resurrection in the world today. In a society often marked by division, fear, and indifference, we are entrusted with the mission of bringing Christ’s peace, compassion, and reconciling love to all; those we know well and those we have yet to encounter.
May this Easter season renew in each of us a deeper commitment to faith, service, and charity. On this holy day, my prayer is that the light of the Risen Christ fills your homes with peace, your hearts with renewed hope, and your families with the deep assurance that death does not have the final word—love does.
Please know that you remain in my prayers, and I ask that you kindly remember me in yours. Happy Easter to you and to all those you cherish.
With Easter joy and blessings,
Most Reverend Christopher J. Coyne
Archbishop of Hartford
