What are you looking for?
Have you ever thought about what it’s like to be without a home – nowhere to sleep, eat, or bathe; no place to be warm; no one to care for you? Jesus experienced homelessness during his life on earth, as a newborn, and during his ministry.
Have you ever spoken with anyone without shelter, a person living on the street, under a bridge, in a park, or the woods? Perhaps you have unconscious biases or preconceived notions and assumptions about our neighbors who are living unhoused.
You are invited to attend a two-hour program called Faces of Homelessness, sponsored by Hands On Hartford, a social service nonprofit that provides food, housing, and health care to Hartford’s most vulnerable residents.
This event will take place on Sat., Mar. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. in St. Augustine Hall, the lower level of St. Augustine Church in South Glastonbury.
Two individuals who have experienced homelessness will share their journeys—both their struggles and their triumphs. Light snacks will be available.
At the end of the program, there will be a question and answer session. Those wishing to participate will have an opportunity to prepare kits for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Please come as a family and invite others.
Registration is requested. Please use the form below. If you have any questions, please email Mary Helmlinger.
