May Crowning Ceremony: Celebrating Our Blessed Mother

It has been a long-standing Catholic tradition to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary during the month of May. One of the many ways in which we celebrate Mary year after year is by holding a “May Crowning,” at which the faithful place upon a statue of the Virgin a crown made of blossoms or other hand-crafted materials to signify her queenship as the mother of Christ the King.
We continue that tradition here at SS. Isidore and Maria Parish this year. We hope you enjoy this video of the Crowning of Mary at both St. Augustine Church and St. Paul Church from May 9, 2020. You may follow along with the ceremony using this liturgical aid.
