SS. Isidore and Maria Parish welcome David Garrido-Cid as Director of Music Ministries, starting Oct. 25, 2021.
David (pronounced da-VEED) comes to SS. Isidore and Maria Parish from St. Thomas the Apostle Church and School in West Hartford, where he served as Director of Music Ministries and as a Spanish teacher. David previously served as Director of Music Ministries at the Catholic Communities of East Hartford and St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Simsbury.
“We are excited to welcome David to SS. Isidore and Maria Parish,” said Rev. Mark S. Suslenko, Pastor. “He comes to us with a commitment to, and a passion for, outstanding choral, organ, and piano performance, as well as a gift to help others reach a deeper and higher level of connection with God and with each other. He is a true blessing to our community.”
Born in Venezuela and raised in Spain, David has been performing since the age of 7. He completed his bachelor’s degree in piano and chamber music at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. He studied at The Hartt School, earning a Master of Music in 2001 and a Graduate Professional Diploma in 2002. He continued his studies at the Yale School of Music, earning his Artist Diploma in 2005.
David and his wife, Alice, an accomplished vocalist, live in Bloomfield with their three children: Santiago, Julia, and Ceci. He succeeds Dr. Ken Nott, who retired from SS. Isidore and Maria Parish in August 2021 after 28 years of service as Director of Music Ministries.
