Let’s Talk About Mental Health in Our Community: May 18 and May 25

The SS. Isidore and Maria Parish Mental Health Ministry is partnering with Amplify, Problem Gambling Services (PGS), and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) for a two-part community presentation entitled Let’s Talk About Mental Health in Our Community. 

This event takes place in the South Wing of St. Paul Church, 2577 Main Street, Glastonbury on Wednesday, May 18, and Wednesday, May 25 from 7 – 8:30 p.m. 

This program focuses on the importance of mental health, and the impact of mental illness and substance use on individuals, families, and communities, with an emphasis on the:

    • Impact of COVID on mental health
    • Legalization of online gambling/gambling disorders
    • Legalization of marijuana
    • Opioid epidemic
    • Effects of vaping
    • The prevention of suicide

A question and answer session will be held at the conclusion of each session. Information about mental health and substance recovery will be available from a variety of community agencies.
