Ss. Isidore and Maria Parish has a part-time opening for a Parish Ministry Coordinator who will be the initial link between parish volunteers and the parish ministries. It is expected that the coordinator will help volunteers view their service to the Church as engaging in the mission of the Parish. Hours of the position will vary but will average 15 hours per week.
Duties will include coordinating all elements of the importance of volunteers to a thriving Parish and will develop new roles and ministries that will utilize the talents that volunteers have to offer.
The Coordinator will maintain an inventory of all opportunities for ministry within the parish; develop and manage a centralized database of volunteers, including records of volunteer participation and programs served; and collaborate with the Pastor, Pastoral Council, and Director of Communications to devise ways to encourage volunteerism and enrollment in ministries within the Parish as well as promoting events.
Additional duties will include the development of a placement process for volunteers, including background screening and VIRTUS training. In addition, important aspects will include developing orientation materials, evaluations, and ongoing support and recognition for new and seasoned volunteers.
Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma and have an understanding and a thorough knowledge and commitment to the mission of the Roman Catholic Church and its teachings, and respect for the Catholic vision on important social, moral, and ethical issues is required.
This position will require a knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word and Excel, Outlook).
