In the runup to the Salvadoran Civil War in 1980, Archbishop Oscar Romero was murdered, martyred, and later sainted for speaking the truth about social justice and peace. He also said that mediocrity is always the majority and the courage of authenticity, the minority. In his latest homily, Father Mark argues that this sentiment is as true today as it was during St. Oscar Romero’s life and that, as Christians, we, too, must continually strive for authenticity in living the Good News.
