The Gospel reading for the Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time – the Beatitudes – is the blueprint for all of Jesus’ teachings and provides a guide for our true happiness in life. But as we look out at the world, we have to be honest and wonder why there is so much famine, war, brutality, abuse, homelessness, greed, anger, and overall human misery.
