We are looking for a few people (4-6) to become part of a new initiative at the parish called Nurturing Seedlings, a community for young parents. This program is specifically designed for parishioners to walk alongside parents of children 0-5. You DO NOT need a theology degree but rather an open heart and a desire to journey with young parents to help encourage, equip, and inspire them to raise their young children to follow Jesus.
The only criteria to serve as part of this leadership team are that you have a love for Jesus and that if you have children, they are older than 5 years old, meaning beyond the ages of the children whose parents you are accompanying. That’s it!
If interested, you would need to attend a one-day training session with other interested individuals from our parish. The next training day is in early February, so there is plenty of time to discern if you are interested in this program.
Once the training is complete and the program is rolled out to the parish, it involves five in-person sessions (1 ½ hr long) with families with children in this age group (0-5 years old). The program is already fully developed so the team facilitates the material. It has been piloted at a few parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Hartford, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
If you are interested, please reach out to Donna Berger in the Faith Formation Office for more information.
